Today, I’m proud to announce the release of my new piece Crackles and Codes.
“The air was a chaos of crackling codes, voices, and music.”
– Erik Barnouw
The above quote describes Barnouw’s take on the proliferation of radio usage at the beginning of the twentieth century. This quote holds even more weight in our modern times, as we are inundated and surrounded by waves and frequencies of communication. Some we can hear, some we can’t. Crackles and Codes is a statement of these sound waves, a collage of field recordings and composed music recorded around my place of residence in Richmond, VA.
Special thanks to Lawrence English for a beautiful mastering job.
